Guest mikeeey Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) i was in the car and my phone rang and when i looked at the number i saw 555-5555. so i answered and right after i said "hello?" there was a lot of static and wind-sounding noises. i just waited and at the end a young sounding guy said "to hear this message again, press 1." so i pressed 1 and the same thing happened again. I then tried to go into Vito Audio Notes to record it but i waited too long and it hung up from the other line. I imeditally tried calling back but it acted as if the number had never existed. strange thing was, you know when you call a non-working number and the operator says "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and try again." well it siad this but most of the time it was in a really high pitched voice (like the voice was on helium). then one time i called the voice was really low pitched. it looks like the area code 415 is California San Francisco County. you can see in this picture that i called back quite a bit of times lol. Guest Chiz Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 You're braver than me. I never call back any odd numbers or press any buttons they suggest in a voicemail. I have heard too many horror stories of being re-directed to expensive numbers.
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Number like that....gotta be the Feds....or the G. Man, you are so busted :) As we say in England... :P

Guest mom22paynes Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 I know where it is from. If you go to Criss Angel's A&E website http://www.aetv.com/criss_angel/ and you go to "freak your friends", there is a place where you can put in your friends name and their phone number and then you email them a special link. When they get the link, it takes them to a video of Criss Angel "freaking their mind" and it rattles off their name and he pulls cards out of a deck in the sequence of the phone number that was entered on the site. At the end of it he says "keep your phone handy" or something like that. Then within a couple of minutes, your phone rings with the static and windy sound. The number that came up on our caller ID was the 415-555-5555 and the name on the ID said "CALIFORNIA". The only reason I found your number was because I googled the number after the call just to see if it linked to any business name, etc, just for curiousity. So, somebody must have entered your cell phone number as the number (obviously in error, because you hadn't received the email, etc). That is why you got the call. I should be a detective... Guest goochy1 Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 I've heard of these freak you friends out lines but it's normally angry voices and stuff - perhaps just a variation Goochy1
