Guest Edgar_Deniz Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Which one should I buy? P800 or the SPVx (when it is released)??? My interest lie in playing games, watch movies and listen to music on the phone!
Guest midnight Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 in that case SPVx, the P800 is a nightmare to play games with the stylus, will be much easier with the spvx joystick, of course, i'm an spv owner and wasnt impressed by the p800 at all (especially at that price, i'd rather have a dell axim and a basic mobile phone for that price) so my opinion is more than slightly biased
Guest Edgar_Deniz Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Thanks  That was the answer i was looking for/hoping to hear!!! Now i can't wait till the SPVx will be released
Guest yatpeak Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 The P800 does have the advantage of a larger screen and no certification, but I'd definitely suggest the SPV/SPVx! (My biased opinion, my dad has a P800 and I'm determined to prove to him that the SPV is better!)
Guest RS Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Just found this http://www.kewney.com/articles/030401-bluephone.html
Guest GreXS Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 But for the p800 you can download Opera: Small-Screen Rendering. And with that you can check out real html websites. You don't need special made spv/pocket pc websites.... I've emailed Opera asking them when the smartphone version will reach the market. No andswer yet
Guest midnight Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 because the simple answer is it isnt, opera and microsoft had a falling out. Anyways, i prefer specailly made websites, why? cos theres less data to download thus doesnt hammer your gprs charges. but, as mentioned the interest is in games, movies and music, and games on the spv are more playable, stylus games are in my opinion absolutely terrible unless its a puzzle game. Divx movies play just as well as the p800, and music is about the same aswell really, one thing to remember aswell is that memory cards for the spv are generally a lot cheaper than the non standard sony stick memory stuff.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 Opera have vowed to never have anything to do with MS products...
Guest fraser Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Opera have vowed to never have anything to do with MS products Oh, so they'll be discontinuing their Opera browser on all Windows operating systems? That's more than 99% of their user base!!
Guest spacemonkey Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 And what's this about spv needing specialist sites? Sure some don't work, but most I've tried work fine... I'm an avid imdb user for instance, and I was sitting in a movie, my mate said, what's her name and with minutes I had a picture of her and name on screen on my SPV... marvelous
Guest midnight Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 yup, 'tis true, only real sites affected are framed sites, and, these are getting fewer and fewer as they are now one of the new evils of web design
Guest Fullfast Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 I am lucky enough to own both, well at least until monday week when I sell my SPV on.....got fed up with getting a sore thumb using the nipple......P800 has it all the way for me...........multiple mail accounts as well......and it does FRAMES
Guest john74 Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 i previously owned the p800 and the spv is superior to my opinion, the P800 is not user friendly and the camera really sucks!!!apart from that its a big bulky phone compared to the spv
