Hello all,

www.commtrades.co.uk

quite good for sim free mobiles...the new nokia titanium thingy is brand new from £450 I think...not bad for an over elaborate 8310!!!

Enjoy browsing!

Morgan Computers (Birmingham, Manchester and New Oxford Street, plus mail-order and Web) have The Handspring Treo 180, SIM free, for £150+VAT & P&P

www.morgancomputers.co.uk and http://www.handspring.co.uk/products/treo/index.asp

Combined GSM mobile phone and palm organiser - SIM free

* Combined "Palm Powered" organiser and dual band GSM mobile phone

* Phone with 100 hours stand-by, 2.5 hours talk time, SMS text message

* Full featured Palm OS organiser with built-in qwerty keyboard

* Includes HotSync cable, travel charger and headset - sold SIM free

OK, it's a house brick, and it's black and white only... but theres a BIG screen, a QWERTY keyboard... and it does quite a lot of what the SPV does, (more if you ignore the need to unlock it!)

The BAD news appears to be that the software required for emails etc., costs an extra $49 (Unless I misunderstood Treo's webpage) But, going by the photographs, it does most of what the SPV does. Obviously there's a trade-off between a decent screen size and phone size. But it seems worth a closer look.

treos are a bit naff to be honest hence the low price

no mp3, no movies, no games (or not very good ones anyway), no gprs, black and white screen, the size of a brick, 33mhz processor, the quality of calls is BAD, the ringers are even worse (very quiet), web browsing is naff (mainly due to b&w screen), terrible os, trust me, the treo aint anywhere near what the spv can do

"treos are a bit naff to be honest hence the low price....NO GPRS"

Strange... Treo seems to think otherwise:

{http://www.handspring.co.uk/products/treomail/index.asp}

"Supports GPRS and GSM data

Treo Mail supports GPRS with always on and fast downloads as well as GSM data. Choose what is best for you."

"...black and white screen..."

While THIS model (the 180) has a mono screen, the 270's screen is colour. And what's more... BOTH models will run any Palm software WITHOUT the need to be decert'ed first.

I think you may know less about Treos than you appear to think.
