Contact Hell!

Windows Mobile 6 has played havoc with my contacts! The sychronisation is stupid and i have had to re-enter my contacts numerous times!! But the last time just baffles me.

I decided to consolidate all my contacts into one, so my phone, outlook, and windows live all had the same information. After syncing with Windows Live on my phone all my messenger contacts came down which i didn't want. One by one i wen through my phone book adding their email to their name already on my phone with their number, if i had one for them. I deleted all my messenger contacts on my PC.

After i had brought them all together on my outlook i sync'd to my phone and added each one to windows live by menu > add contact to windows live. This took ages! When i was done everything was fine. All Contacts were the same on phone, outlook and live. This was until a couple of days later.

I checked my phone to text someone and couldn't find their name! i checked again and realised my contacts had shrunk down to just 32. Seen as i had 91 this wasn't good. All was the same on outlook and live and basically i have lost all my contacts. There is no pattern to this either. Some are just messenger contacts, and some are just mobile numbers that are left. I added each one to windowls live one by one so im mystified at where they have gone.

If anyone could tell me the definitive way to sync all your contacts (outlook, phone, live) then it would be a great help! Also what is the best way to back-up your contacts cause i dont want this happening again!
