HELP WITH TOMTOM 5.20 MAPS

Hi everyone, i have a vox and its my first wm based phone, i have installed tomtom 5.20 and it always sais its have no maps. where should i put the map files what name and what version of spain map should i install.

Did you not get maps with tomtom? You could just add a folder with the maps to your device. I added some to my memory card where I installed tomtom6 and when I went to select maps, the new ones were on the list and worked fine.

Just put the maps on the sd card (the folder name doesn't matter - i think).

However, if you are using latest maps (versions 6.60 for tomtom 6) you have to pay attention as only very specific revisions are backwards compatible with tomtom 5.2x.

I was able to test that as I have Tomtom 5.21 on my Vox and Tomtom 6 on my IPaq...

I found that (for example):

- Western Europe v660.1223

- Alps v660.1223

- France plus v660.1223

work perfectly on 5.2x,

whereas:

- France v660.1219

- Western_and_Central_Europe v675.1409

do NOT work (they simply don't show up in the list).

Normally you can check this on the tomtom website...
