Remove the battery and wait 5 seconds. Replace the battery

This is to be done first and do I have to replace it with other battery to do hard reset or what????

I can see this could be difficult !! , but I'll try to explain..... Just remove the battery from the SPV, wait 5 seconds, then put the battery back in.

If your having difficulty understanding what to do with the battery, then doing a hard reset might not be a good idea !!

(Although, I've hard reset my phone several times without removing the battery and it worked just fine, so you could skip the battery removal bit and just jump to hard-resetting)

Throw your battery away and now you can run unsigned applications such as blankscreen.exe!

Oh ok, yeh i thought that for a minute but then you have to allow for the language barrier, i dont get the impression this guy speaks english (if im wrong im going to feel very foolish, but then how else could he not understand)!

Hehehe......

U r rigth Woody... Please look out for me on this forum...I´m feeling that I will have problem with hard reseting..

Isn´t it illegal to do it by own.....I called Orange and they said that I have to come down to shop to do flashing.....or maybe Orange are not aware of this.

Just wondering, what difference does it make if you take out the battery or not? I seem to get the service menu fine without doing it (as AsherUK has mentioned)...

Just out of curiosity why did you want to do a hard reset?

and will you be needing help to de-certify you phone?

I needed hard reset cauz somehow my windows media player was deleted from SPV..

hi,

I followed exactly your hard reset instructions: my SPV does not want to reset. After I push the action key like described I get a white screen. Only taking out the battery helps to bring back the phone. I never saw any diag menu appearing!!??

Can somebody help me out...... ?

cheers

Ok sorry

Do you have the sd card in or not?

how old is your phone?

and also do you get anything after the white screen?

If you have been too slow you should get the three colour canary screen.

I'll have a look round and see if I can find anything for you.

Until then does anyone else have an idea?

- the SD card is not inserted

- I got the phone beginning of December 2002

- the phone hangs up with the white screen (I get nothing, even after 10 min)

- indeed, I get the canary screen if I do not press the action key in time

try inserting sd card ,if there is no card in mine it does exactly the same thing, once i put in sd all works fine
