Guest furgan Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 I don´t really understand this one when u hard reset ur SPV... Remove the battery and wait 5 seconds. Replace the battery This is to be done first and do I have to replace it with other battery to do hard reset or what????
Guest furgan Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Which original battery????? I only got one with SPV....
Guest woody Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 take out battert wait 5 secs put back battery ok
Guest xanadu Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Which original battery????? I only got one with SPV.... Well, that must be the original battery !!
Guest AsherUK Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 I can see this could be difficult !! , but I'll try to explain..... Just remove the battery from the SPV, wait 5 seconds, then put the battery back in. If your having difficulty understanding what to do with the battery, then doing a hard reset might not be a good idea !! (Although, I've hard reset my phone several times without removing the battery and it worked just fine, so you could skip the battery removal bit and just jump to hard-resetting)
Guest DJHope Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Throw your battery away and now you can run unsigned applications such as blankscreen.exe!
Guest DJHope Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Oh ok, yeh i thought that for a minute but then you have to allow for the language barrier, i dont get the impression this guy speaks english (if im wrong im going to feel very foolish, but then how else could he not understand)! DJ Hope
Guest woody Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 would love to watch rest of hard re-set,i think we are going to be hearing a lot of furgan in the near future
Guest furgan Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Hehehe...... U r rigth Woody... Please look out for me on this forum...I´m feeling that I will have problem with hard reseting.. Isn´t it illegal to do it by own.....I called Orange and they said that I have to come down to shop to do flashing.....or maybe Orange are not aware of this.
Guest zenabi Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Just wondering, what difference does it make if you take out the battery or not? I seem to get the service menu fine without doing it (as AsherUK has mentioned)...
Guest woody Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 please let,s not over complicate things for furgun any more than they are already but yes my spv is the same
Guest furgan Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Wauw.......my hard reset worked.. Now it´s back to "out of the box" ...Thanks for help...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Just out of curiosity why did you want to do a hard reset? and will you be needing help to de-certify you phone?
Guest furgan Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 I needed hard reset cauz somehow my windows media player was deleted from SPV..
Guest goa Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 hi, I followed exactly your hard reset instructions: my SPV does not want to reset. After I push the action key like described I get a white screen. Only taking out the battery helps to bring back the phone. I never saw any diag menu appearing!!?? Can somebody help me out...... ? cheers goa
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Go here for the best explanation http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...ight=hard+reset Oh and Welcome to the site ;) PS Please try the search option ie Hard reset Any other questions just ask
Guest goa Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 thx for fast reply, but that's exactly the explanation I was using... IT DOES NOT WORK WITH MY SPV..... :? PS I've got a Orange Switzerland SPV
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Ok sorry  Do you have the sd card in or not? how old is your phone? and also do you get anything after the white screen? If you have been too slow you should get the three colour canary screen. I'll have a look round and see if I can find anything for you. Until then does anyone else have an idea?
Guest goa Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 - the SD card is not inserted - I got the phone beginning of December 2002 - the phone hangs up with the white screen (I get nothing, even after 10 min) - indeed, I get the canary screen if I do not press the action key in time
Guest woody Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 try inserting sd card ,if there is no card in mine it does exactly the same thing, once i put in sd all works fine
