Guest stigdu Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Hi all, I'm pretty new to this ROM flashing thing but plucked up the courage and did my first ever one yesterday, to the new official HTC WM6 ROM. All seems to be working ok except now I can't browse the internet or send any MMS messages. If I click on the 'G' icon in the top bar, it says "There are no data sessions active. Programs connect automatically as needed. To change connection settings, tap Settings." If I try to connect to the internet, it says "Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings." Any help would be much appreciated!!! Stacy
Guest rdwars Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 (edited) After a ROM upgrade, your whole phone is being wiped. Only the contents on your storage card will remain available. Thus, you have to create a new connection to the internet. Like you've done before you'd upgraded to WM6. Now there just isn't any connection defined and so your phone doesn't know how and where to connect to. How to create a connection using WM6 I don't know, since I haven't upgraded yet. But at least now you know the reason why you've lost your settings. Good luck! Edited July 8, 2007 by rdwars

They have a downloadable application to configure all teh settings for all the UK operators. If you can't find it, look in the Trinity/P3600 Upgrade pages. The UK Operators file works on any WM5 or WM6 Touchscreen device.

Good news: Found a website for manually setting up GPRS Orange settings, and so far, that part is working ok! :) http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html Now to try and get MMS working... :/

Guest Neil5459 Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Glad it's sorted, but for future reference, the HTC page is Here , with Network Settings Wizards at the bottom.

Ok, first sorry if this is too blunt. 1: You upgraded your ROM without reading any thing in front of your eyes? You would have been told that the upgrade would remove all your settings 2: Data on Orange, are you bloddy nuts! £4 a MB is just crazy! I download that much on my phone in 10 seconds!

Whilst I do not know if this applies to the original poster, I have the mysterious original Orange World Browsing or whatever that was £8 pcm for 1gb data. Data on Orange is good for me (since August 2006) I agree that officially and as a general rule at the moment, Orange just don't do data though. Edited July 12, 2007 by crazyc
