problem with sms tones

Hi peeps, i have a XDA Mini S and dont know how to add sms tone..the only thing i can add is ringtones and i'm having trouble using different tones as text alerts, does anyone have any idea how to change the text alerts ? thanks..clair

It depends on what you're talking about. If you mean that you cant add an MP3 as a text alert then you're out of luck unless you use special software that will allow you to do it. Text alerts have to be .wav files. You can download software for your computer that will convert some MP3's to .wav files though and there's plenty of websites out there that you can download them from too. Now, if you just don't know how to change them then click on start-->settings-->sounds and notifications-->notifications tab and on the top drop down menu scroll down to messaging: new text message and in the drop down menu just under it it will give you your choice of the tones that it can use.

And lastly, if you have tones that you want to use but you just don't know where to put them so that you can use them, then you have to put them in the windows folder for them to be able to be used.
