Windows Live Messenger

Hey,

I've searched the internet for the answer to this and can't find it, but I figure someone here must know.

I have a free MS Exchange email account with mail2web. This is awesome and works with direct push onto my PPC phone. Lovely. I have about 200 contacts in there which I've collected over the years. I have ZERO intention of ever typing all that lot in again.

So, I've just downloaded Windows Live Messenger because lets face it, it looks quite good. And I am going to be picking up a WM6 phone when I next upgrade which I understand works really good with WLM.

So how on earth can I get my Microsoft Exchange contacts and import them into Microsoft WLM? Surely, given that both these products are made by the same company and both have contacts databases, there is a nice simple way to export and import from one to the other????

Anyone care to help me out on this one?

Cheers

Where did you download Windows Live Messenger from - I can't for the life of me find where to get it? Once I have this product on my Windows Mobile 6.0 device I'll investigate the issue you have as I'm in a similar position.

EDIT: Just realised that you are referring to the desktop product rather than the Windows Mobile edition. The answer is that you can easily import the Exchange contacts into WLM however I don't believe there is a tool to keep them synchronized. It would be feasible to develop a solution as there is now an API available for WLM Contacts. If you have 'Windows Live' on your phone then this will apparently sync your contacts from WLM with the contacts on your phone from your Exchange account which might achieve your goal.

See my Blog entry.

I have an m600 so I don't have Windows Live on my phone at the moment. Is it available for WM5 platforms? Or just WM6? If you can get it on WM5 then it seems I might be able to get this working via Windows Live on my phone....
