Using PPC as MP3 player into hi-fi via USB

Apologies if this has been answered or is a really stoopid question, but I failed in my search.

I have a hi-fi system with a USB port in the front and I'd like to be able to plug in my pocketPC via USB cable and listen to the tracks stored on the memory card of the device. I tried just plugging it in and playing, but alas not a sound.

Any tips would be gratefully received. Do I need to fool the device into thinking it's got headphones in (if so, how?) or do I need extra software?

Sounds like WM5torage will do the trick - it's a bit of software that turns your phone into a Mass Storage USB device which should work well with your hifi. Visit this topic for all the info you will need (assuming your device is running Windows Mobile 5 that is).

Hi Everton2004, many thanks for your reply. That sounds just like what I need, but I am using the Touch with WM6.0.....any solution available yet?

WM5Storage runs fine on WM6? It works fine on my touched-vario.

Did you actually test it?
