Help! Messaging on e650 locks when creating a new or reply to email

I can see my email and sync to the server both on Outlook email and my Yahoo IMAP account but when I try to create a new message (or reply) it generates a blank screen and puts up the menu options for a new email with everything but cancel Greyed out. When I try to cancel nothing happens.

The only way to get out of the blank screen is to open task manager and close Messaging. SMS and MMS work fine. Warm reboot doesn't help.

This has happened twice. First time I cold started but would prefer not to do this again.

Has anyone else seen this?
