Guest patnpm Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 All-locations GPRS counter is causing me no end of trouble........ I downloaded the trial versions of GPRS counter and explorer I uninstalled both programs once the trial period was up I tried to install some other software I receive the message 'GPRS counter CAB is installing' Nothing at all is installed on the 'phone. Advice here is that I need to install Explorer to delete the rogue CAB file I buy All locations explorer Which WONT INSTALL BECAUSE THE GPRS CAB IS BLOCKING IT! AARGH! I really don't want to do a hard reset! Any more ideas?
Guest patnpm Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Just in case anyone faces the same problem..... All-locations told me that this is an intermittent problem with uninstall on the smartphone software - it leaves .CAB files in the IPSM/windows/Appmgr/install file. They suggest deleting the folder. BUT via Activesync you cant even see the install folder. You can delete the Appmgr folder (I renamed mine) BUT you can't create a new Appmgr folder. It won't allow you to do it. Nothing at all will then install via Activesync because it can't find the Appmgr/install folder and won't create one. Solution: Install a program (any program) from the orange SD card that came with the phone. That WILL create a new Appmgr/install folder without the original residual .CAB file stuck in it. You can then install anything you want. Nic Mapstone
