Guest highlorddave Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Hi all, Got myself a shiney new E650 to replace my aging c600 and have had a great week learning all its ins and outs, anyways i have app unlocked it, de-oranged it and spent some time installing all my old fave pieces of software but there is one more thing i would like to do but cant figure out. How can i view/access files shared over my LAN via the wireless? and can i set up a shared folder on my E650 so that i can access it from my PC? i have tried making a web shortcut to the networked file but it did not work :) (eg //mypc/sharedfolder/ ) dave

I will give the resco ssoftware a try and report back cheers dave
Guest looeee Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 (edited) PPC has the network folder browsing capability compiled into the operating system. Smartphone does not. If all you want to do is to access MP3s and AVIs then install a webserver (IIS, apache) on your PC and use TCPMP's web browser to stream the files over the wifi looeee Edited July 18, 2007 by looeee
Guest highlorddave Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 Thanks for the replys guys looeee your right about the networking capabilitys being removed from the smartphone version of wm6. it seems that its not just a case of missing .dll either so swoping a few files from my pocketPC is not gonna fix this. It bogles the mind to wonder why MS has removed something so usefull from the OS? Thanks for the idea of running a webserver although i was hoping to be able to upload content back to networked drives for work.
