Guest truscotsman72 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Right folks, Here's a question for ya's. On ebay, the iphone clones, the hong kong CECT ones. Anyone know what they're like, the software, can it be reprogrammed (roms?) etc. I've hunted google stupid and I cant really find any reviews of the things. I understand that its a very basic phone, as it turns up as a removeable device on your pc when plugged in via USB, but I was curious to see how much, if any, it could be 'played with', again, software, flash, roms etc? Im thinkin about getting one for 'fun' just to see what its about, but I thought I'd ask if you guys could shed any light on 'em? Ta, Marti . . .
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 iphone or not iphone, is that the question??. Nope, that's not the question at all. The question is "what do I want from a device" I doubt imitations of the iPhone will have any more potential for tweaking than the iPhone itself (which is pretty poor in that regard as I understand it)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 I wouldn't touch any of those fake iPhones with a bargepole personally! P

Personally im not that keen on the iphone because I think its a very, errr lacking? phone for the money (it does look quite smart though). It's not that great a phone. For the ipod generation and mac users, its superb, but for people that tend to surf modaco, we like to play with our gadgets. Which is kinda my question, what do you think could be done with it? Marti . . . PS: anyone got specs on it? mem, processor etc?
