flight mode on turn-off

My vario-II keeps on going into flight mode when I turn it off (by holding down power button and confirming)... sure it didn't used to do this!

What I mean is I can see it turning off the 'phone function' as it shuts down, then when I boot it up again it fails to turn the 'phone' back on :)

Any way I can stop it doing this?

Is there any reason you are turning it off completely, rather than putting it into standby?

Normally, after a full switch off, when you turn it back on again, it will do a full soft reset, and should turn the phone back on- don't know why your doesn't. Are you giving it enough time to complete the reset, then turn the phone radio on?

It seems to be happier if it gets a full reset fairly regular. Yeah I'm definitely giving it enough time - I've sometimes only realised the 'phone' bit was off hours after a reset.
