Guest MikeSel Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Hello All. Perhaps not the best place to ask for Black Majik support but I figure so many of you guys use it. it's worth a shot.. All seems to be going well, apart from ....... The 'Automatic' sound profile seems to keep self activating..? Also, how is this configured? Is it time activated etc? Any advice would be appreciated!
Guest crazyc Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I had issues with the HTC Home plugin. The auto profile would pick up any appointments in my calender even if I had not selected that profile. There was apparently a fixed cab made available in a thread on XDA, but it still did not fix it for me. Am now using Black Satin and a skinned version of phone alarm along with Claunch, which works better for me - you can see it on the thread by Saeba re his Phone Alarm skin on 4winmobile.
Guest Lordsmiff Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 There's a newer version available here that has 6 tabs on it now and fixes the virbration issue (something to do with using the calendar makes it put auto vibrate on) I've just put it on mine and it looks good but I have to confess that I don't use the automatic profile thingy. Cheers, Smiffy.
Guest Lordsmiff Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Having just read through 17 pages of posts (with the maximum number of posts per page as well!!) it would appear that the problem has not been solved, unless you disable the profile tab (instructions are near the end of the whole thread as to how to do this) Smiffy.
Guest MikeSel Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Seems to work ok for me, I just need to remember to set up my non important calendar items with a status of 'Free' and not busy which is the fefault
Guest UndeadDevil Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I'd personally recommend against Black Majik. I had it on my mobile for a few weeks and started having nothing but problems. Slows-Down, ect. I'm now using Schap's ROM which runs perfectly, no issues at all and its faster than any Black Release i've tried.
Guest MikeSel Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 well mines working fine so far, touch wood... I may change, but only once it starts playing up! It's taken me days to get all my software reinstalled again! Now just need to find a way to increase signal strength

Guest crazyc Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 With all my gripes about customer service etc on orange, and the lack of data plans for most people, I generally find their network coverage to be good? Also, I found Black Majik to be extremely good, the fastest and most stable ROM I have used - admittedly I have not tried Schaps as Black Majik was fine. Am now using Satin with no complaints at all, didn't need to move from Majik, but am now a serial flasher so....
Guest Rob.P Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 What's satin like? I'm on Majik at the moment and wasn't sure if it offered enough to warrant the hassle of flashing the ROM again.
Guest mrdo Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 i'd be interested in some opinions on all 3 - majik vs satin vs schaps as i'm just about to flash for the first time (oooer) and really can't be bothered with installing all of my apps multiple times. :-)

I found the service kept going downhill and had alot of issues with Data (Kept disconnecting) I also get much better signal now i'm on T-Mobile however this could be the PDA having better reception, plus I've heard of Orange have the best signal in quite a few areas of the UK. I definatly find Schaps better and faster than Black Majik, but I haven't tried Satin which is ment to be the same ROM version as Schaps. MikeSel: I've heard 1.38 is much better for Orange, you could try flashing that Radio if you haven't tried that yet.
Guest evolution400 Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 I have not used schaps but have used black majik and now running black satin, black satin. I would say if your having no problems then dont upgrade, Black Satin looks pretty much the same maybe slightly slower as I insttaled the full featured version, no bugs I have found yet though I think there is an official HTC WM6 out soon if its not already out so be interesting to see how that performs in comparison.

I have not used Schaps either, but largely because I prefer the look of the black ROMs. As for Satin vs Majik - could not really fault either of them, have noticed no great difference so have gone for Satin as the latest version. (Both excellent in my opinion). Now to start cooking Satin to my own requirements.
Guest Rob.P Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys. Think I'll stick with Majik and see what the offical WM6 turns out like, if it's no good I'll go for satin just so that I have the latest build.
