Guest mc01 Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I have succesfully paired my HTC S710 with BT carkit Nokia C7-7W. No echo like with the Qtek 9100 but people I call complain that the audio volume is to low. Volume on the carkit set to maximum. There are lots of posts about registy setting to boost volume (\\\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN(x)). Are they applicable for carkit also. E.g can I boost audio volume to BT carkit? (I also have a HKLM\Software\HTC\Nokia CK7W). Please advice!
Guest xavalon Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 if someone find a solution? I welkome the answer too. Three HTC phone's, and two Nokia C7-7W car-kits further (standard with my company) i still have problems. Orange C500; great WM2003 phone, but in combination with the C7-7W people complained about the echo and i also recognized an echo. In the end i used a wired ear headset. QTEK 8310; good WM5 phone, but in combination with the C7-7W people still complain about the echo (bluetooth connected). I didn't hear an echo. HTC VOX; fantastic WM6 phone, but now in combination with a new C7-7W people complain that they hardly hear me (bluetooth connected). I am shouting in my car. And i believe i am not the only one with car-kit troubles.
Guest cub_55 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 ok i find a solution (sorry for my poor english im french) edit the registry entry : (only for HTC s710) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN and change EAC_GAIN_HEADSET=55 by another values (i try 62 and 72 that work but 80 don't) and reboot the mobile :)
Guest mc01 Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 My problem is with the Nokia carkit and not the headset When I open HTC S710 Registry I find other settings than your default values. (made a copy of it -> see attachment) Did you also adjusts your settings for the carkit?
Guest cub_55 Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 no i don't touch the carkit (i dunno what that means) but try to change EAC_GAIN if it dont work backup to the default values
Guest xavalon Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) On another forum someone deleted the "HKLM\Software\HTC\Nokia CK7W" registry key and that solved the problem of that the other side doesn't hear you very well (low volume). Haven't tried that yet, going to, but instead of deleting i just rename the key (for easy restore). Going to test it tommorow in the car to work. Edited August 7, 2007 by xavalon

No low volume problems but introducing echo and noise. So trail and error is al that is left. (rename an other setting to Nokia (eg Parrot to Nokia). Have not tried that though..
