When updating my hermes from WM5 to WM6?

How can i backup and restore call history like incoming/outgoing call history,received SMS?

My guess is SPB backup & the alikes don't work since it involves an OS update that is from WM5-WM6?

PIM backup is what you want. A quick search over @ xda-devs should give you the download link.
