Keeping O2 GPRS costs low

Hi all,

I've just moved to a new job with far greater net security which means I have only restricted access to the web etc during the day. I also have a commute during which I'd like to be able to surf a bit, MSN, email, etc.

After a few days I can see the GPRS bill is going to get very large, very fast. I'm currently on O2 with an XDA Mini S, my contract ended in April and I intend to upgrade to a Kaiser as soon as they become available, probably in the form of a Vario III from T-Mobile with Web'n'Walk sometime in September.

Question is, what to do in the meantime. I think O2 have a couple of bolt-ons (2MB and 4MB) but they're quite pricey and not really enough data. Are there any other options available? There's no clear info on www.o2.co.uk about data packages and upgrades; I'd ideally like something along the lines of the Business Data 20 tariff, but that's not available to me as a residential customer.

Anyone know any alternatives that'd see me through the next couple of months?

O2 do a Data36 (36MB) bolt-on for £17 including VAT. The next one down is Data5 at (?) £8
