Internet Sharing / No network connection

Hi guys

I'd like to know how to connect my S710 using my PC's dsl connection

I've seen the "Internet Sharing" icon, but when I click that, it asks for a "Network Connection", and nothing shows here. I mean, I have no option to choose here, and my phone is connected to PC through the USB cable.

Does any1 know how to fix this ?

I always see a little connection icon to appear/dissapear when I connect my phone to the PC, but don't know if this affect this "Internet Sharing"

Thanks a lot in advance

Internet sharing on the phone is to allow your PC to connect to internet via the phone. Other way round, basically :)

If you were to want to connect the phone to internet via the PC... I remember with an old WM2003 Pocket PC (without WLAN or GSM functionality), it was generally just a case of connecting the device to the PC via activesync and it would automatically use the PC's internet connection. I guess it is different with a modern device like S710 because it has so many ways of getting internet connection itself.

You will have to look into how WM6 manages the "internet" connection destination, and see if this can be made to go via USB rather than via GPRS or WLAN. No idea how to do this though, since networking in WM6 is totally different to earlier versions and much more automated (so less manual changes). Given that setting up activesync between the PC and the phone means they create a mutual virtual network for the duration of the connection (which states that it runs at 10Mbit), maybe you need to enable internet connection sharing on the virtual network adapter which appears on your PC when you have the phone connected?

ok

I magically did this

- connected the phone to pc, using latest activesync

- went to: SETTINGS -> CONNECTIONS -> MORE -> USB TO PC

Clicked this option, then checked the Enable advanced network functionality, and when I clicked DONE, something happenned in my PC, like if a connection activated or something

- tested IE in my S710, and worked

Don't know if this will work, but do these steps, even if you already have the checkbox enabled...

G luck
