Guest dcgent Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I have a VARIO II (TyTyn) and while trying to take out the Micro SD Card, I pushed in instead of pinching the card and pulling out (I for some reason treated it like it was spring-loaded and expected it to pop out.). This stupid move pushed the card into the slot so far that I cannot pull it out and I fear it may have damaged the phone, or at least the memory card slot--the picture and music on the card are no longer accessible and the phone doesn't seem to even know the card is there any more. It isn't listed. HAs anyone done this before--did I break the slot by pushing in to far or is it recoverale if I can get the card out. Any suggested on how to do that--I need to find some thin tweezers and I'm not even sure that will do it! Sheesh. I wonder whether this is covered by my mobile insurance --john

Remove the battery and SIM card and you should be able to see the back end of the SD card through a hole under the SIM slot. Use a small plastic poker to carefully push it out of the slot. It happened to me because there was a rough and unfinished edge on the card which made it a slightly too tight fit. a little light rub on emery paper sorted that out. You're right about the slot being spring-loaded - it is! It normally works by pushing it in and watching it ping out at high speed so watch you don't lose it :)
Guest dcgent Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Brilliant--paperclip and some study hands poked it out of the slot. I don't think the slot is quite right but the phone can now read the card when I insert it and I am just careful not to push it in too far.
