Can you switch screen to landscape without the keyboard open

I'm sure there must be answer to this on here already but a quick search didn't flag it up.

Q. Can you switch the display to landscape mode without having the keyboard extended?

The reason for asking is that I'm about to try TomTom6 on my SPV E650 and I think the display would be "better" in landscape mode (and other posts appear to indicate the app with switch to landscape). However, with the keyboard open it is difficult to find a holder for the car that will accept the phone like this. Also, for normal phone usage I want to keep the phone in "portrait" mode.

Any ideas?

Check out this. Works fine on my S710.

Thanks. Does the job nicely. Assigned it to a speed dial and now a press and hold of the key gives me the option to spin the screen.

Shame the device or Windows Mobile doesn't have this built-in.

Thanks again.

Thanks PrOsper very useful.

jqsquash how do you assign it to a speed dial please.

Kind of new to this HTC S710 and learning as I go.

Ok think I have it, you have to hold the quick key down for a second or so

Thanks again

Looks like you have it, although the way I did it was to use the Start menu, open Accessories, highlight the app and then press "Menu" which gives you two options:

1. Add Speed Dial

2. Add Voice Tag

Once the speed dial is assigned, then pressing and holding the key launches the app.

In response to da7dal...I thought I'd explained the reason in the original post. I'm betting that TomTom Navigator will "look better" in landscape mode, but trying to find a bracket to hold the phone in the car with the keyboard open is going to be tricky. So, I just want to launch the app, switch to landscape mode but have the keyboard closed, not that odd really is it????

Check out this cradle: ProClip

You should be able to attach it to most mounts.
