Guest henryd Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 I have a Samsung i600 non touch-screen smartphone that runs Windows ActiveSync (5.0 i think). Anyways, the primary reason that I got this phone was for email and my main email address is hotmail which I understand can NOT work with this device, (owing to having no POP3 incoming server details). The odd thing though is that after being told that the phone actually has a 'Pocket MSN' faeture that has messenger and hotmail. When i try and connect - obviously it doesnt work. Ive spent hours and hours trying to figure it out and am becoming more determined to solve this riddle. Can I ask you guys these questions please: 1. Can I recieve hotmail as my primary email on my phone to send and recieve emails? 2. Is there anything glaring out at you that i need to do to activate my hotmail account on my phone? Thanks, all answers VERY appreciated ! H
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Which network are you on? Do any other data services work? Have you tried using the passthrough connection on your PC via USB? Pocket MSN should work fine for messenger, and once you've successfully logged in you'll find a Hotmail mailbox added to Messaging.

The Sync works in that I have very easily added Windows Media files, (.avi's etc) which ease. I can connect to the Internet no problem but when I try the hotmail it keeps telling me that the Third Party ended the connection. Any thoughts? Thanks mate.
