Same Activesync but dif for WM2003 and WM5

WM2003:

- I have the option to say when there is a conflict in synch, I can leave it as it is and I can manually resolve them.

- I can specify that I want synch on connect. After that I can manually initiate the sync

WM5:

- I can't find these options at all even though I'm using the same Activesync 4.2

Looks to me, it's a step backward. I wonder why ?
