Hiding GPRS/EDGE Icon on Windows mobile icon tray

Hey all,

I am trying to go for a clean homescreen look and was wondering if it is possible to hide the 'G'/'E' icon from the top icon tray? Currently what I can find on the web are just hacks to disable the GPRS/EDGE connection which I do not wish to do, just hide the big hideous icon that shows on the homescreen. Any ideas?
