Does anybody know how to switch from the start menu with nine icons per page to a start menu list?

get your self a reg editor and follow me.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMenu\Gridview

change this from 1 to 0 and reboot

Thanks! Additionally I was relieved to find a short cut for this after I installed the i-mate software pack for the phone I got.
