I'll pay for answers, 5 quid a question, first workable answer to posted, per question, gets 5 quid by PayPal (aswer all five in one shot, I'll give ya 30!). Again, first posted, first paid -- but it has to work! OS is WM6 Pro (device is UBiQUiO 503G). Settings, third-party software, or registry tweaks, I don't care -- it just has to work.

1. OK button closes programs, not minimises them

2. Network icon shows "H" when on HSDPA and "U" when on UMTS with no HSDPA

3. Make data connection persistent (i.e., connected all the time instead of only when needed by one of the applications)

4. All e-mails and attachments (all folders, all e-mail accounts) stored on storage card

5. Create shortcuts to commands or settings icons, and place these in the Start menu

P.S. There are no other rules -- for example, it doesn't matter whether something has been posted somewhere else already. Post it first in THIS thread, and you're the winner.

Hello there, interesting approach to a forum question but here goes.

1) To map OK button to close program try this program

http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php

AEBPlus25.CAB

This utility extends functionality of hardware keys on Windows Mobile devices. It allows you to:

intercept almost any standard button: application buttons, WM5 SoftKeys, Volume slider, Action and even Red/Green phone buttons

distinguish up to 4 different keypress events on each button grabbed (single, double, triple and "long" keypresses).

remap each of the keypress events to "virtual" application button or assign them directly to one of the wide set of built-in actions.

More info in this topic at Xda Developers

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...highlight=PQzII

2) Install HSDPA_Icon.CAB it changes the registry key of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\RIL]

"EnableHSDPAIcon" to 1

3) With a registry editor navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\(relevant connection)\

Assign a value of 1 to AlwaysOn then perform a soft reset

4) Simply open Messaging tap the relevant Email Account then Menu, Tools, Options then tap the Storage tab at the bottom and select the box "When available use this storage card to store attachments"

5) This is a link to msdn with a guide about this.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default..../ppc_tcuts2.asp

Or quite simply follow this guide

You must connect your PDA to the PC with Activesync and then:

- in the desktop of the PC open a New Text Object

- write in the document one of the following string

- save the file as shortcut.lnk (where shortcut is the nome you want give to shortcut)

- copy the file on your PDA (for example in windows\start menu)

and you have the shortcut.

This are the strings (they are for wm2003 but many works also in wm2006)

Hello there, interesting approach to a forum question

It gets results.

1) To map OK button to close program try this program

AEBPlus25.CAB

Not advertised as being compatible with WM6. It might work, but it also might not, and I cannot test it because I cannot take the chance of having to do another hard reset -- have lost too much time already.

The problem with Buttons in Settings is that the buttons are not available to be assigned. Same goes for SPB Pocket Plus.

2) Install HSDPA_Icon.CAB it changes the registry key of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\RIL]

"EnableHSDPAIcon" to 1

Tried that; my phone froze after soft reboot and I had to do a hard reset to bring it back to life.

Yup, looks good.

4) Simply open Messaging tap the relevant Email Account then Menu, Tools, Options then tap the Storage tab at the bottom and select the box "When available use this storage card to store attachments"

That only puts attachments on the card, not emails themselves. Half price.

5) This is a link to msdn with a guide about this.

This looks way too time-consuming for me to even begin trying it, but it's MSDN so I'll take your/their word for it as a working answer.

By my calculation, you've racked up 12.50. Send your e-mail address to michehrlich on hotmail and i'll paypal it to you.

And -- thanks!

Haha awesome, that was the easiest 12.50 I have ever made :)

With question number 2 did you try just using a registry key not the cab as well? It might have been a dodgey cab I made?

I also misread question 4.

Do i still get the money with this suggestion?

1) In Outlook Mail, go to Menu, Options. Last Tab, Storage. Turn on the store attachments on storage card option. Reboot of device might be required.

2) Using Registry Editor go to:

HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings

Add the new Value:

"PropertyPath" value="\Storage Card\Mail" datatype="string"

You will see the "AttachPath" that it put there already when you enable attachments though POutlook.

3) When restarting device, it might lock up and create a "Storage Card" folder on the device because the mail starts before the SD card. Your Storage Card will show up like "Storage Card1" or something.

If that is the case, just pull your SD card out, get it booted up, and rename the "Storage Card" folder to "Storage Card.bak"

Then, restart the device and put your Storage Card in before it reboots, it should then not create anymore folders.

Just leave the .bak folder there, it has nothing but some empty folders in it and doesn't waste space.

I tried this part with no luck are there any other solutions to this issue with the virtual Storage Card? I use my storage card as the install location for all of my programs. Whenit gets moved to Storage Card 2 all programs are broken until I delete Storage Card and reseat the Physical Card

Do you have the mail plugin enabled?

If so then when you need to remove that from the Today screen, then delete the Storage Card that has been created and then reboot and hopefully it should have resolved itself!

Hope it works out.

I'd strongly advice not putting the Inbox itself onto a storage card. Many who have tried it end up with corruptions and lost data because the Storage Card is either not fast enough, or initialises too slowly when the device restarts. This leads to File System errors and sync problems, especially with MicroSD crds, which are inherently slower than SD or MiniSD.
