Guest Visatoru Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Hello guys! I am a new and proud owner of an SPV E650. I want to ask for your help regarding a situation. I consider that the qwerty backlight is very eye bothering and I want to disable it. I figure that if I am in a complete dark environment I can use the keypad for writing a sms for example. So I would like to disable it because I rarely find myself in a dark place :) . Any ideas? A registry tweak or an application? Thanks!
Guest ombre33 Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 err.. quite honestly, i dont understand what you want.. it's like this: if you use the vox in a bright enough environment, the backlight wont be activated at all (remember that little light sensor?). even if it would, it wouldnt bother you much since the surrounding light will be brighter then the blue of the keys. i dont find the backlight annoying at all, it aint hard on the eyes at all. sooo.. what is it that you want? save battery? that'd be the only thing that'd make sense.. -ombre-
Guest johniain Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Visatoru Start, Settings, Power Management, scroll down to Light Sensor Enable and turn it off. If this is what your looking for. J Edited August 14, 2007 by johniain
Guest Visatoru Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Thanks for your answers. I want that the Qwerty backlight never light-up. I want it to stay always off. First and most important reason: it's hurting my eyes. Second reason: battery saving. I have looked all over the registry but I didn't manage to find a solution... Maybe by creating a certain key in the registry... I would be very grateful if someone can help... Edited August 14, 2007 by Visatoru
Guest johniain Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Visatoru I think my last post tells you how to do what you want. J Sorry should have said .... after clicking done, done go back to home page and wait about a minute, then it switches off. :-) Edited August 14, 2007 by johniain
Guest Visatoru Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 I am sorry but there is no way to turn off the light. Even if I disable the auto sensor, it still works. Can you tell me please if you have experienced the same issue? I have recently hard reset the phone and the only app I have installed are: IM+, Maniac Autokeylock, Opera browser, SmartMonitor, PHM Registry Editor and I have a personalized homescreen.
