Guest 17-APG Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Hi All, I am thinking of replacing my aging SP5 and was going to purchase the HTC S710 but I have read that HTC are about to announce (by year end) the successor with a faster processor and new design layout. Does anyone know if this is the case cause I would wait?
Guest ICQ_Eagle Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 The processor will be a different one and so having a different clock, not neccessarily being faster. Saw some pictures somewhere on the net and didn't like the new design at all, looked cheap compared to the Vox.

Full details here http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=728 But the thing is that all over the net there are reports on this phone where the picture looks nothing like this. Instead it shows an ugly white thing. But if the above site is correct (and normally it is) then the S730 will be very similar to the S710 but will have the addition of GPS, a front (and rear) camera, HSDPA and a much faster CPU. It is for the CPU alone that I am interested. Every now and then I just wish my S710 had a little bit more grunt and the S730 seems to deliver just that. In any event the expected release date is next month so not long to wait.

But you can overclock it and it becomes quite acceptable! The tradeoff is some battery life.
Guest Sheldon Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Well I just got the Vox today, and saw this and thought ARGH!! But I'm in England so it won't be out here till next year, by then my contract will not have long left to run anyway.
