Guest kaiser47 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 hello everyone. i have the orange E650, clone of the htc vox. when connecting via wifi i have a problem when using a fixed IP on my smartphone : i'm connected to the signal but i cant surf internet unless i type the ip adresses of the web sites example for google : if i type google.fr = i cant connect if i type 72.14.221.104 = i 'm on google and i can search. but if i click on some search results : error. when i use dhcp on my smartphone it seems that the router provides the IP AND the DNS data because i can surf internet with no problem. so i suppose it is a DNS problem BUT i cant find where to specify the DNS into the smartphone. can someone help ?? please I hope you can understand my english ...

In Start>Settings>Connections(5)>GRPS there are DNS settings. In the US (AT&T) there is no need to set DNS in here. You also might need to set PROXY settings (6) depending on your provider. Jon

It works perfect @ home static or dhcp, both connects and browse ok. i'll check @ work later with static ip.
