playing various video formats?

I've transferred a few simpsons episodes onto my mobile but they wont play...

it comes up with:

"there is no application associated with "filename". Run the application first and then open this file inside the application"

does anyone have additional codec's for WMP or alternative players?

You don't say what format the files are but the Core Player should be able to handle them :

sorry they are .mpg files... I have also tried .avi files and it says the same thing.
