Keyboard functions Motorola Q9

I have a Motorola Q9 and tried to install TomTom 5.2 Mobile (Smartphone version), but without result. Then I tried TomTom 6 Navigator. Most functions are working with the keyboard, but one of the problems is to type an address. The QWERTY keyboard of the Q9 doesn't switch between letters and numbers. I have tried all keys and combination of keys but no result.

Does anyone have a solution?
