active sync problems with HTC S710/Vox

Got my S710 about a week ago, like it a lot, but having a problem with syncing. nothing fancy with exchange servers or anything, just straightforward Activesync 4.5 and Outlook on my home PC.

Last week I made a new partnership with the phone, and all proceeded fine. At this stage I was using Outlook 2002. yesterday morning, whilst checking the appointments on the phone, I noticed that no future appointments had been synced, only the past. despite repeated attempts to sync, the phone refused to pick up these new appointments. I did a hard reset via start>expert>clear storage. still no joy, and even worse, the contact database wasn't syncing either despite the settings being correct in Active sync.

OK, reinstall Active sync, and noticed that they recommend Outlook 2007, so i installed the demo version from the S710 disc. Still no joy. i'm really at the end of my tether here.

The appointments and contacts databases still exist within Outlook 2007, but steadfastly refuse to transfer over.

Help!!!!
