watsup with active sync?

yesterday i went in the airport and when i left my phone on as it went thru the x-ray it corrupted a lot of stuff in the Rom. no settings would open, the active sync drivers were corrupted, i couldnt install anything. i ended up doing a hard reset and it fixed it all. active sync would give me errors, thank god for wm5storage.

however i highly doubt this is the case for you lol, i thought i would just share my little story. have you tried just simpley re-installing activesync, rebooting your pc, or rebooting your device?

I have the same problem with one of my laptops. When I plug in the S710, the network driver for it installs (not sure why, but it does), but nothing else shows up in device manager, and ActiveSync 4.5 simply cannot find my phone. I've tried just about everything, and I don't know what else to do.

On a similar note, I have yet to be able to connect to ActiveSync via bluetooth on any laptop (even the one that works with USB). On the laptop that works with ActiveSync & USB, I can send/receive files via FTP through bluetooth - so bluetooth definitely works. But I cannot get ActiveSync and the phone to see each other via bluetooth.

Help?!

do you run windows media center by any chance on the computer the device can't be found on?
