Applications quitting after 10 seconds

Just got the phone yesterday, fiddled around with the power management settings as much as I can but this is really bugging me, after 10 seconds, whatever application i'm in it'll return to the main screen. If im waiting for anything to load etc itll just keep quitting! Even if i take longer than 10 seconds to read/write an SMS it'll go back to the main screen! I have to keep the screen active to keep it open!.

Theres obviously a simple solution to this (I would have thought!)

Go to Settings, Homescreen and set Time Out to Never.

Thanks, was fiddling around with all the settings last night and found it. Doesn't say how in the manual though!
