Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Are you... - A user of a Pocket PC with a QVGA display (landscape OR portrait)? - Capable of extracting a ZIP file and copying the contents to your device? - Willing to help me test something cool? If you answered yes to all the above questions, read on! I have been playing with the trial version of a barcode reading component for .net, and would like to appraise it's performance on different devices with different cameras. I have integrated it into a very rough and ready application for posting to Wishpot, although to help me here, you don't need to have an account. Here's what you need to do... - Extract the ZIP file attached below, and copy to a directory on your Pocket PC - Run 'wishpoSt.exe' on your device - Hit the box that says 'photo not available' - Take a picture of a barcode from a CD, DVD etc. At this point, get the barcode as clear as possible, and note that because we are not taking the image at maximum res, you should be able to use the digital zoom (up / down) to help you get the best image - After taking the picture, if a barcode is found in the image, you'll see a message box pop up, with the barcode number. Hopefully it matches your item  If you are a Wishpot subscriber, you could then hit send and the item would be automagically populated in your wishlist. For the purposes of this testing however, please reply to the topic using the template below... Device: (e.g. SPV M3100) Results: (e.g. barcode didn't recognise, couldn't focus image, never worked, always worked, generally worked etc) This is REALLY useful if you can help me out ;) TEST RESULTS SO FAR HTC Kaiser (AF) - Reliable scanning UBiQUiO 503G (Macro) - Reliable scanning MDA Vario II / HTC Hermes (Macro) Reliable scanning 3 out of 3 (see below, thanks mwright!) Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Works great on the Kaiser, but then you would expect that with Autofocus! P
