After being available in the states and even longer in Japan it's available at only £299.

Anyone got one yet?

Is it better than the Premium.?

I'm a bit gutted actually though as i only bought a will a month ago so i can't have 2 new consoles in that quick sucession

The only differences, as I understand them, this has a 120gb harddrive instead of the 20gb, is black, and it includes an hdmi cable. The last one doesn't matter any more (newer premiums have the hdmi port, at least here in the states). And unless you're downloading movies or ripping music to your xbox you don't need the space. Hell my regular xbox hdd is mostly empty and I've downloaded patches and extra content for like 30 games.

Not over here as i far as i'm aware any way but as i understand it though microsoft will be bringing out a new film section where you'll be able to download brand new films (new releases) for about 500 points so you'll need the space.

Which part isn't true over there? The HDMI port? Because thats really hit or miss over here right now too. But all of the newly manufactured ones have the port, which I believe is a worldwide change. Of course retailers will be dumping old stock for a while.

Ye as far as i know we don't have them as yet....I want the Elite though i don't really see the point....if my precious ever brakes down i may buy one.

I don't really lust after an elite, I prefer the cream (with silver faceplate) to black in the setting i'm using it anyway ;)

I broke my faceplate the very first time i opened the slot (memory card) so i changed to black in January anyway. Apart from the white edges 13GB hardrive and the incredible noise it makes i've had an Elite all along :wub:

Though now the Elite is here i want a white again and i can't get an original faceplate anywhere so if anyone does have one i would be happy to work something out with them.

I doubt they'd give me a new faceplate just for the sake of it. But thanks for the suggestion.

I got myself a pair of tweezers and i got the spring out of the back and i manage to fit it into the white one so now it's back to normal - a nice white xbox again !! I am considering a PS3 but i'm worried about the cable which fits into the back of the tv (HDMI/Component) - it would be too much of a farse to keep switching the five lil cables over each time i wanna play. Can you get a block like you can for scarts ? if so can anyone send me a link please ??
