Guest tsutton Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 (edited) My 18 months contract with T-Mobile is almost up - what phone should I get next? I'm currently using MDA Vario and I'm loving it. I'm on the Flext 20 plans with WnW. What phone should I be looking at next? I was thinking Vario II but I think they're going to end it soon. I'm looking for the same thing as Vario, but hopefully with inbuilt GPS or better CPU/memory. Thanks, Edited August 26, 2007 by tsutton
Guest UndeadDevil Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Vario III ;) Built in GPS, Faster CPU, loads more RAM, MicroSDHC, Windows Mobile 6... Think it comes out in about 2-4 weeks time.
Guest tsutton Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Mm, it looks good. I wonder if I will get it for free for upgrade (unlikely!)
Guest goochy1 Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 I wonder if I will get it for free for upgrade (unlikely!) Tell them that your gonna leave and go on orange or o2 they'll soon compramise my mate got his contract £20 cheaper and free upgrade by doin that ;) Goochy1

I think it was nearly £50 and got it to about £30 i think... may be he just had the gift of the gab (or what ever the saying is) Goochy1
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Tony - Vario III = no brainer ;) P
Guest chucky.egg Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 I'm in the same position, but gave up on the Vario long ago. I've been using an I600 for a few months and love it (most of the time) I'm thinking about a Vario III, or a Touch (I prefer small and light, at the cost of features) I'm nervous about the Touch - I need reliable and a good battery. Nobody likes to say "my new phones a PoS", but I think that's what some of them are saying to themselves. The Vario III looks awesome, but is it just too big? The TyTn struck me as a "brick" and it seems to be about the same dimensions Any suggestions? (esp from Touch users)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Woah, woah... the Vario II is a LOT smaller and less bricky than a TyTN! I stopped using my TyTN for that exact reason - too big! P
Guest tsutton Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Paul, do you have the link to the size comparsion graph between Vario I, II and III ?

Guest goochy1 Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 My Uncle has Vario II very nifty ... looks great !!
Guest tsutton Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_compariso...-III-vs-Vario-I Thank you.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Beware. they're being "clever" with the sizes I put in the listed dimensions of each phone (from pdadb.net, which isn't always accurate, but the numbers were the same everywhere I looked). We got the TyTn II today and it's a few (3-4?) mm thinner (screen to battery cover) than the Wizard/XDA Mini S, but it is NOT the 8mm thinner that the numbers suggest!
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I've just discovered that the weights of the devices are inaccurately reported too The Kaiser was touted as being 170g, compared to 168g for a Wizard (Vario I) In actual fact the TyTn II is 192g and the Wizard 172g (incl battery and memory card)
