Hi.

I'm in the market for my first ever PDA. I have a list of requirements, and was just wondering if some of you nice people would help me out and tell me what little gems are out there that I should have a look at.

My requirements are the following:

- Phone Capability

- 3G/UMTS

- Integrated GPS Receiver

- Bluetooth

- Wi-Fi

The only device that I have found so far that fits my needs is the Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox T830.

Are there any other devices out there that I should be looking at?

Thank you very much for your time and knowledge!

Thanks again,

onlyone-jc.

Hey there welcome to the forum!

Your making a good choice by choosing Windows Mobile haha!

The fact that you want GPS and 3G really narrows down the devices but then I guess you have an easy choice after that!

The HTC TyTN II (Kaiser) is a first obvious choice due to the fact its the best PPC to date and you know you will definitely have something thats going to be up to date for quite a while and will be quite hard to top the specs for a long time. It is coming to the UK in the next few weeks I believe

The HTC P3600 (Trinity) also covers all your requirements and is available in the UK I believe.

I believe that is it, but I'm just running off my memory and a phone search engine so if anyone else knows of any devices available then correct me!

Thanks for your input, greenturtle! It's much appreciated!

The TyTN II is out of my price range, unfortunately (however nice it may be!). Although, I will take a look at the HTC P3600.

Can I ask where the best places are to buy PDAs SIM-free online? I had a look in the MoDaCo shop, but there are only contracts available. I have found a few places of which I feel are reasonable, such as the eXpansys website. But, I was wondering if any of you could share any others?

Thanks again,

onlyone-jc.

ah shame the TyTN II is out of your price range, but ouch! if you want gps AND sim-free without a contract, i think you would also find that out of your price range. whats the highest your willing to spend? have you taken a look at the PDAmaster on pdadb.net?

I was looking at O2 XDA Orbits the other day

They're going for about £200 on eBay

They have WM5 and GPS, but no 3G

Hey no problem ;)

I've never really found a decent site for SIM free apart form eXpansys and bought my Vario and C500 on eBay with no trouble, just make sure you are 100% confident with the seller!

Thanks for the link, mikeeey!

My budget is around the £300 mark. However, I'd probably stretch to around £350 if the device was right.

The HTC P3600 seems like the perfect candidate at the moment, providing I'm willing to sacrifice the qwerty keyboard that the Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket Loox T830 offers.

Although, the battery-life of the P3600, at only three hours talk-time, isn't so great.

Thanks,

Yeah, I had a look at those myself. But, unfortunately, 3G is quite important to me.

Thanks,
