C500 tomtom 5

Hi guys...need a bit of help here!

I have installed tomtom mobile on my c500 and connected it up to gps no problem.

However the package I have only comes with UK south maps.

My friend gave me his copy of full Gb maps and I have copied this to the sd card (\Storage Card\Great-Britain-Map)

However when I run TT I get the dreaded 'no maps found' error.

I have tried creating a CuurentMap.dat file in \Storage\My Documents\TomTom but it still does not recognise the maps.

If I delete this and then put in the original map then it all works fine.

Is it hardcoded on the phone or in the app?

This is really doing my head in......is there incompatibility with maps?
