As there are currently no known viruses affecting the WM platform, most observers say don't bother with AV yet. As with the PC platforms, AV products slow down the system- this is much more noticable with the relatively low power of PPC's.

Don't believe the hype being spread by the AV companies ;) Wait till there are reliable reports of genuine threats. In the meantime take the usual appropriate action to avoid dodgy files.

nealy evry website we brows has sum sort of virus/crap that messes with out pc/ppc id raver b protected im running f-secure at the monent trying to find a serial key.

pc - yes

ppc- no

there are viruses out there for windows, but not windows mobile, they arent the same OS.

antivirus programs for windows mobile are worthless, ive had one on my smartphone for a while and it never found anything, it just took up room on my device.

id raver have it take up 2mb and b safe.

TIP. if u cant afford 2mb deleat a picture or 2.

You are both right it seems. However, I think it must be possible for someone to create a virus that is downloaded to a PPC or Smartphone via WiFi which is then transferred to your PC via activesync using this as a method of bypassing your security program. ;)
