Passthrough connection no longer works

I have just had to return my computer to a previous state and can no longer use the passthrough connection via USB or Bluetooth. Whenether i am connected to Async and browse GPRS is immediatly initiated. Ive tryed all i can with my knowledge of wm 2003 SE and have had no joy. I cannot find the option to allow passthrough. Can someone please offer us any suggestions.

For a simple home PC with no proxy connection:

With phone connected, Open "ActiveSync" on PC.

Go to "File" > "Connection Settings"

Change the "This computer is connected to" value to "The Internet"

If this doesn't work, check the following on the phone:-

Settings > 6. Connections > Menu > 1. Advanced > Menu > 1. Options

Check the value for "My Desktop connects to:"

Change to "The Internet".
