Guest nicollow Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Hi, I have just got a new Orange SPV E650 phone which i am not too keen on. I tried to put my new Orange sim card in my old SPV C500 (which is ace) and whenver I send a text it says "sim not valid". There are no such issues with any other phones i put it in. Is there any way in which i can use my old C500? Any help would be much appreciated. Its unlocked and I have hard reset it, but that didnt help.
Guest Peter6UK Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Hi, I had exactly the same problem after recently switching to Orange from Vodafone. The SIM card I got worked with the phone supplied with the contract (a Motortola Z3) but when I put it in my unlocked SPV c500 I got the same "sin not vaild" error sending text messages. I spoke to a very helpful lady at Orange and she noticed that I had been given a 3G SIM card and allthough these shold be compatable with 2G phones there are apparently issues sometimes. She sent me a 2G card which arrived at the weekend and after registering and installing the card my C500 is now fully functional. Regards Peter
