Disable next word prediction

I just purchased a HTC Vox after coming from a dying T-mobile SDA (I-mate SP5m).

I am trying to get used to the new crappy xt9 and I would like to know if there is a way to disable the next word prediction. I can't find it in any menu and I'm guessing it might have to be something in registry.

I am not talking about disabling predictive text but about typing for example: "Where" it will show me a next word such as "are"? Hope someone knows what I am talking about.

Or is there a solution out there that can bring t9 back such as the one found on SDA?
