Guest nigels Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Hi All Please help ! I have an HTC touch, and all has worked very well so far.. until recently. I was trying to move a file, from the internal memory using cut and paste in file explorer, when on trying to complete the paste, I got a message : Cannot Delete 'xxxxx' Access Denied. Be certain that the file is not write protected or currently in use. I then looked at my memory usage, and it told me I only had 1.2 Mb free, so I set about trying to delete or move things from my internal memory. The trouble is, that now i get this message for EVERY FILE !! - even if its on the memory card. I cannot move, cut, delete ANYTHING... every attempt produces this error message. I managed to free up 9Mb using internet explorer clear history... but still I am unable to delete any files. Everything else works fine... the files can be opened and used.. just not deleted. I have tried restarting, and a soft reset. There are no other applications running. Please.... someone else must have experienced this ? Any ideas and advice gratefully recieved ! Thanks

Guest Looby Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Is it possible to re-install the file that caused the problem and then delete it from your PC via activesync? ;)
Guest Chuck Yeo Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Hi, I have the same problem. Cannot delete any file on my storage card. Not sure what causes the problem. I can connect using ActiveSync but I cannot sync the calendar and stuff. I even tried explorer the files using ActiveSync and deleting the files from there. Same problem, it keeps saying Access Denied. Anyone has any ideas or solution. Please help. Thanks. Hi All Please help ! I have an HTC touch, and all has worked very well so far.. until recently. Guest Looby Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Have you tried re-formatting your storage card? ;)
Guest Neil5459 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Nigels- your low memory could be causing the problem as there isn't enough cache space to complete the file move/delete operation. Have you tried opening Pocket IE, and going to Options/Memory/Delete Files, to clear the PIE cache- if you've done a lot of browsing, this can take up loads of space, and the OS won't remove it automatically.
Guest johnpugh24 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Hi, I am having the same problem, did you find a solution to this? Many thanks, John
Guest johnpugh24 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 I gave up on trying to find a solution and I hard reset my phone (O2 Orbit) and now the writing lock seems to have cleared, not a elegant solution, but it got it back working again, which is the main thing.
