De-branding operator versions of the Tytn 2

Does anyone know if the Vario III will come with the same black theme today screen as the HTC version? I know that some operators tend to put their own versions of themes in, replacing the original themes.

If this is the case, would it be possible to "de-brand" the t-mobile phone to have the HTC version of the software/firmware? A bit like on the Nokia N95's!

That said, a debrander to return to the default winmo look should be straightforward!

I'll definitely be trying to de-brand and install the default HTC software if I get an MDA Vario III and not an HTC Kaiser. Too bad the phone itself can't be de-branded though; what goes through T-Mobile marketing's head when they slap neon pink all over something that's supposed to be a serious business device! ... okay so it's not that bad, but the T-Mobile software... ugh!

It should be easy to do without changing firmware, though. A simple uninstallation of unwanted T-Mobile apps, a replacement Today theme and some Today plugins to garnish. Sorted!

Guys, seriously, t-mobile aren't REALLY going to have all the pink stuff on the handset, are they???

Lets think about this logically - Vario III will prmarily be aimed at the business market (even though us techno geeks will buy 1 too ;) ) Now, what business dude will look right walking into a high power meeting with a pink and baby blue phone!!!

Come on T-Mobile, get someone with some common sense when it comes to sytling!!!!!

Hmm I was wondering about this. I'm currently having a hard time deciding between a very good call plan on a network I'm happy with and a cheap upgrade (o2) but really lousy data or a new contract with t-mobile with a slightly poorer plan (no 08xx numbers included in plan!) but excellent data (unlimited! ahh!) but a more expensive phone with branding (eww!).

If the device doesn't look too hideous (hmm) and I can get rid of the t-mobile rom and put the HTC default one on there (is that possible?) I might be more tempted.

So more responses please!
