S710 or 720 slider reliability

I was wondering if anyone had any long term use of the s710 or s720? And specifically any opinions on the slide function? I think I might be buying the 720... but i am scared to crap that the slide function will start to break down after a year or so.

I've had mine since around April, and while it wasn't great to start with, it's only slightly worse now. If I use the keypad with one hand when the phones closed, the keypad moves around a little making it damn annoying.

I've only had mine for a couple weeks, but I can say I'm very disappointed in how loose the keyboard is in the closed position. Yes, it is very annoying, but it also makes the phone feel very unstable in your hand.

Try a little piece of green base (self stick) on the underside of the top sliding portion of the phone, near the edge where the curved part of the keypad is.

It's not the ideal solution but it works and tightens up the loose feel of the keyboard when it is closed.

My first phone had a loose keyboard, however after the screen broke I was sent a replacement the next day and this current phone feels very solid. When closed the key pad does not move, there is no wobble, and with the keyboard in or out, the handset feels quite solid.

It's possible that newer phones have been improved, though I expect it will become loose over time, which is to be expected really, but loose from day 1 is a bit of a let down on such a phone.

I have the Vodafone variant (v1415) and my keyboard is nice and tight and has been for over 6 months. The spring action works well still and when in the closed position it hardly moves at all. It does a tiny bit of play in it but not enough to affect typing on the front keypad or cause concern.
