Guest NuShrike Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 (edited) I've tried the publically available WM5/WM6 BT DUN registry patch, as well as Paul's Kaiser tweakpack and neither gives me working BT DUN (which btw is a term you can't search for on this board). Before the patches, BT DUN was listing in the available BT services, but wasn't responsive. After the patch, operational behavior did not change. I've even walked through the settings manually in the registry to make sure nothing was missing. The only weird thing is I can't replace two dlls in the \Windows directory from the public WM5/WM6 BT DUN patch because it's already exists, read-only, in the Kaiser ROM. Has anybody gotten BT DUN working on the Kaiser? Can you please help me get this working? I know I can use Internet Sharing, but there are certain devices that I have which only support DUN, and it's a pain to turn on ICS instead of just allowing dialout. Guest Syphon Filter Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 I'm bumping this. Can someone please post a "how-to" for getting your laptop connected to the internet (via USB and Bluetooth) using your TyTN II and with PAN or DUN. I have followed various instructions but had no joy, the Bluetooth PAN asks me for a username/password/dial number, but surely this should just be using my GPRS/3G/HSDPA connection to connect and as such should not require any of that information?! I am confused...if someone could please help with this it would be MUCH appreciated.
Guest Syphon Filter Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 (edited) Ok this is weird, I just set up the BT PAN and it now seems to be working, infact I am posting this from my laptop using BT PAN (T-Mobile) as my internet connection. It's quite unstable though, in that one second it all seems to work and then all of a sudden the connection just drops...will do more testing over the weekend and next week and keep you guys updated on how it goes. EDIT: Could the instability I am describing be related to "time-slots" ? Edited September 20, 2007 by Syphon Filter

EDIT: Could the instability I am describing be related to "time-slots" ? I noticed yesterday that, after a week of working fine, BT PAN stopped working. I then realised I had WiFi enabled - so I turned off WiFi and BT PAN worked fine straight after - I know you're sometimes warned on other machines not to use the two together - but I've never had such a direct probelm with WiFi and BT

After hard-resetting because my tmail.exe stopped working (roughly correlated to enabling GPS Photo and Yahoo Go!), BT DUN now works without any hacks or registry tweaks. In fact, I can get BT DUN & PAN working together now. Woo! And GPS Photo still works and does not disable tmail.exe, for now.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 My BT DUN patch works fine, I've used it on my device! ;) P
