Guest mattartist Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Hi guys, Enjoying the reviews and comments re. the HT TYTN II. My Orange contracted SPV M600 is due for upgrade. For the last few months, I was planning to continue my SPV path and go for the M700. I'm happy with my M600 (apart from when the camera doesn't work due to not being enough memory and Magic Button screwing up my Today screen!) and longing for GPS so M700 makes perfect sense. All my SPVs have been free with contract thus far. However, I wonder if someone could suggest other PPCs with GPS options/contracts than the M700 as I suspect I'll have similar issues as M600. I'm tempted by the Kaiser but not so keen to pay for an upgrade. Is the M700 and TyTN II leagues apart in terms of speed and stability? I have searched but receiving search errors - (poss due to 3 character rule) Thanks in advance Matt
Guest WoD Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 It probably goes without saying that if you're not already flexing your photographic muscles in the MoDaCo Palringo group trying to win a Kaiser you've got a few days left still; providing your camera will work of course! Failing that, if I were you I would be shooting for an HTC Kaiser or the Orange equivalent simply to get a refreshing change of device. It will, of course, have its own set of issues many of which you can already read about... but if you're even half the gadget nut I am how can you resist!? Most of the guys at work have had their business phones upgraded to the Orange SPV M700, it's quite a pretty phone and you can, apparently, activate the GPS using a registry hack. The benefit of the M700 is, of course, compactness... it's significantly sleeker than the Kaiser but the Kaiser mops the floor with it in pretty much every other aspect and has a keyboard to boot. It all really boils down to sleek, cheap, incremental upgrade to your existing phone VS slightly bricky, very sexy, probably expensive bigger brother. I'm slavering for the latter.
Guest mattartist Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Just to add that I ended up with the TyTn 2 on Orange for £zero and maintain my current tariff of £25 pcm ;) Was originally quoted £199.99 upgrade but the comparison to T-mobile soon sorted that. Result. Loving the Tytn 2!
