MDA Hard Reset - not complete

Hello,

I have studied this forum closely with regard to Hard Resetting my MDA VArio 2. I have tried all combinations, but I never get the request to use the Green Telephone key, all I get is the request to use the keypad. However most irritatingly, when it has reset and I have synchronised all the information, I get a "U" in the title bar instead of "G" and "3G", I get a basic phone layout where the touch tones don't work "in call" (a real sod when accessing a mailbox!) and the internet home page is an OEM version.

So what am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?
